First day at Unimas, 3 July 2010

About four years ago,I received an offer letter to study software engineering in Unimas.It's a four year duration course.Like it or not,I have to accept it. I am told to register in the residential college on 3rd of July 2010.Basically,on this first day,we need to register ourselves at the registration counter.On this day also,you need to fill in a form.After that you will be given a unimas school bag,Unimas kokurikulum shirts and etc..Can't remember actually...Then you have to get the key to check in your hostel room.You will get to know who's your roomate.Besides,we get to know a lot of friends from different states all over Malaysia.Oh ya,there is a week orientation,where you guys need to be awake as early as 5 a.m and only get to bed at around 1 a.m..

 To-DO lists before entering the uni:

1.Remember to do a medical check up and bring ur X-Ray to uni.
2.Open a bank account with Bank Islam(this is for your ptptn) / RHB (to support your daily life)

I've ended my studies in last June.So I decided to write a short blog to give an introduction of the faculty
Welcome to Unimas and the Faculty of computer science and Information Technology(FIT),UNIMAS FIT juniors...
In FIT, there are five types of course to study namely:
1)Multimedia computing
2)Software engineering
3)Computational Science
4)Information System
5)Network Computing

One of the famous local food in Lukut is known as "dirty mee" almost similar to Sabah's version of 'Sang Nyuk Mian"

Dried version with dark soya sauce

Fried version with added pork and vege.

The 'La Zha mee'' comes with a big bowl of soup with mixed ingredient like fishball, meatball, tender pork , leafy vege, soft taufu and 'fu chok' (beancurd sheets).

 I've read on several blogs about this bakery,so decided to give it a try.
It's my first time here,so I decided to give a try on the pastries.

Hazelnut Roll Danish (RM4.50) & Peach Danish(RM3.90)

The peach danish roll was crispy on the side,soft inside and just nice with the cream and the peach on top,while the toppings on the hazelnut roll danish is quite sweet actually but still acceptable.

Caramel macchiato(RM(9) & blueberry frappe (RM10)

 caramel macchiato taste bitter actually,and the blueberr frappe taste sweet sour with some berries on the bottom.Since I choose to eat in the shop,I request for a glass instead of plastic cups.
Each beverages ordered will be served to the table.I have to wait around 15 minutes for this ..

Each items are service charged at 10% & gov charge of 5%
 There are various kinds of pastries to try off ,can't try all at the first time,so if there's an opportunity,I shall visit again the shop again next time,perhaps? .

Final year,final sem

Exams had just over.Only have three papers and a Final Year Project this semester but the weightage of the subject is quite heavy.Too much terms to be memorized and remembered.The only wish is to pass all three papers although the carry mark is quite high...

Corona simulator

There are many tools out there that enable us to build Iphone or Ipad apps.
Corona is said to be easy,fast and powerful.The Corona SDK uses LUA as a development language and then re-compiles to Objective-C.
To install the editor:
There are two steps to install the editor.
1)Go to tools and select command pallete,select Package Control: Install Package
or either
2)Go to preferences and select browse packages 

Firstly go to coronalabs.com and there will be two python code to be selected and choose to be copied and paste in the sublime editor to enable the corona editor.

 To install and use corona stimulator:

After download has completed,run and install the program

Browse through sample project ,select and run the desired project.Theere are many sample project to be choosen from. There will be a corona Simulator output showing that the program is running successfully

P.s:However,  builds for the iPhone, iPad or Android devices won't be able to be created. Meaning to say that we only can play around with the development environment and find out if it is the right choice.
